Our Vision, Values and Ethos
All staff, pupils, governors and parents have contributed to the formation of the vision and the values that we have and hold for our school. This collection of words expresses the values that we encourage in order to create a happy and successful school. See also our British Values.
Our Ethos Statement is as follows:
Recognising its historic foundation, at Barnabas Oley we believe it is important to preserve and develop its religious character and establish a set of core values in which to live. Within a caring, Christian ethos the school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.
At Barnabas Oley, our school motto is;
We have chosen the following five rules as the Golden Rules for how we behave at all times. We follow these rules in the classroom, in the playground, when we are in assembly or when we are out and about.
